Following the recent hire of former Missouri women's basketball assistant Michael Porter Sr. as an assistant men's basketball coach, Washington has extended an offer to a rising Missouri prospect in 2019.

Marcedus Leech, a 6'5, 170-pound strong forward received the news from Head Coach Lorenzo Romar on Tuesday, and it made an immediate impact.

"It's very big for me," Leech told Rivals.com on Wednesday. "Being offer by a good college like Washington is big for me and I'm thankful to be blessed with my talents taking me this far. He [Romar] told me to keep grinding and that the school fits my playing style and the offense I like to run."

Leech is the second 2019 prospect to receive an offer from the Huskies over the last couple weeks, with Seattle (Wash.) Garfield point guard P.J. Fuller receiving one earlier this month.

The Huskies are arguably one of his biggest offers to date along with Missouri. However, he's starting to take notice of Washington under Romar this upcoming season.

"I'm very interested in Washington," Leech said. "I'm gonna watch them a lot more this year when college basketball comes back around."

Leech is also hearing from Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Ohio State, Ole Miss and North Carolina. Of the three Leech said UNC, Kansas and Ohio State would be immediate impact offers, in no order.
