VIDEO: Top250 ATH Salvon Ahmed Interview at MayMadness

Rivals.com spoke with 2017 four-star Kirkland (Wash.) Juanita athlete Salvon Ahmed on Sunday following the 2016 MayMadness event at Foster High School. The No.227 overall prospect in the class broke down his recent visit to Washington and upcoming visits...

On MayMadness performance... "Yeah it was good, good to get back out here and get going. I've been busy with track a lot, so I haven't been able to do a lot of foot work stuff besides football. I was just lifting, hanging out with my team and getting faster with track. But it was good - glad I got to go against Chase [Claypool]. That was the only person I wanted to go against today, just trying to get better. So we got to go at it, but other than that it was a pretty good day."

On how track has gone this spring..."It's been good. I've got a lot faster and just conditioned. So I'm ready for camps condition wise, just need to get everything else as far as football agility ready."

On camps this summer..."Yeah I'm going down - I leave Friday night to go down to Stanford for their Junior Day and then that Saturday I have the Nike Opening which I will be going to in Oakland. So as of right now that's all I've got planned."

On other teams standing out..."Not as far as visits right now. Hopefully, I talked to my family, try to get down to Notre Dame and hopefully try to get down to Cal while I'm in Oakland. So maybe Cal and Stanford and maybe - Stanford for sure, Cal hopefully try to get over there. But then Notre Dame during the summer and I just had a visit to Washington yesterday [Saturday]."

On how his Washington visit went..."It was good. Me and my family went over there and had lunch with Coach Pete and the coaches and kind of just hung out. Chico [McClatcher] was over there so we just played Xbox and hangout."

On where Washington stands..."They're definitely a top team for me. Growing up I wasn't a Washington fan at all. I was USC - that was all I wanted to do. But definitely in this recruiting process I had to see what was best for me and had to open up to more schools than USC. That's definitely changed a lot. But they're definitely a top school for me. I'm a big fan of Coach Pete and what he does over there. So looking forward to building that relationship going forward with everything."

On timetable and official visits..."I don't know if I'm going to take all five. I'm definitely going to take some of my officials. The plan is to commit sometime during the football season, maybe a couple games in."
