BEAVERTON -- With each passing recruiting class Washington has continued to send more and more commits to the nations elite high school competition. This year UW will have two verbal commits participating with several other top targets also attending.

Four-star tight end Hunter Bryant and three-star running back Connor Wedington are the two of the three Husky commits, both in-state prospects, participating in The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon.

Wedington is ranked as an running back, who can play either safety or running back - he will play running back at Washington - and one of the more intriguing prospects on the West Coast, after picking up early summer offers from Oregon and Cal.

Arguably the most notable commit Washington will send to The Opening is three-star defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu, who committed to the Huskies over Oregon and several other top programs this spring. Tuipulotu made waves with his decision to spur in-state Oregon and has remained steadfast on his decision to commit to Washington.

Washington remains high on the list of several other prospects participating including four-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell, four-star cornerback Salvon Ahmed, four-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao, four-star cornerback Elijah Molden, five-star cornerback Darnay Holmes, five-star running back Najee Harris, four-star linebacker Addison Gumbs, four-star defensive lineman Hunter Echols, and four-star running back Stephen Carr.

Sarell, one of the nations elite offensive lineman, has three schools standing out including Washington, Notre Dame and Stanford. Currently without an offensive line commit to date for the 2017 class, the in-state prospect is at the top of UW offensive line coach Chris Strausser's list and an overall priority for the Washington coaching staff.

Ahmed, another in-state prospect, also has Stanford and Washington on his short list and is expected to make a decision toward the end of the summer or shortly after his season begins. Washington was first to offer the four-star prospect and is another player who is expected to stay in-state when all is said and done.

Of the out of state prospects, four-star outside linebacker Addison Gumbs is highly coveted and one of the top players on the Huskies' overall board. With one outside linebacker spot filled with three-star Folsom (Calif.) linebacker Ariel Ngata already in the fold, Gumbs is a prospect UW would like to round out that spot for the 2017 class.
